No commentary needed.

But cool comes at a price - bids open at $1m. (via Boing Boing)

The shark: jumped.

Yesbutnobutyes (a vicky pollard blog?) has called it. Rummaging has jumped the shark.

With the emergence of so many blogs about eBay bids, they (claim) to have registered www.bizarreblogsaboutbizarrebids.com - - your number one online source for sites that talk about ebay bids.

I've been called passe on the same day as finding out that the Guardian is nicking my ideas.

I need to find something new to write about.

Exam results

Craig Amshel has been sued for selling medical exam results on eBay.

The best part of this story is that he is a rectal specialist.

So you don't need to ask what he felt like after he was caught

Haiku: NEW RULE - FEEDBACK

Ok, a great entry has forced me to add a new rule.

Haiku left as feedback will now be accepted.

Why?

This great entry:

you sent me a disc,
ingeniously packed,
like the spring blossom

If you're going to leave feedback as a haiku, please label it 'haiku:' so I know you haven't happened on 5-7-5 feedback sentence!

Our best haiku yet?

This book by Dennis
Is full of thrills and menace
Completely Wheatley.

Internal rhymes and everything. The bar has just been raised.

Remember, you can enter as many times as you want. I'll do a round up on Monday of the entries so far.

Also, if your auction is featured on Rummaging, you're almost guaranteed an extra, say, nine hits. At least.

Dodgy Dodgy Dodgy

I saw this ad on Craigslist UK.

sharing your personal deatils

Reply to: ukidlist@yahoo.com

Date: 2005-05-25,  8:35PM GMT/BST
we are looking for men and women aged 21-40
who agree to share their personal deatils
(verified by their ID documents)
with online commercial websites.
this is an one time session in your house.
this offer is for british citizens only.
immidiate payment.

Compensation:  400£

Now, I'm no expert on such matters, but this seems like it this comes from chapter 1, page 1 of the Identity Theft Manual. "First, gather an entire set of personal details. Make sure you get verified identity documents. Make sure you only get British citizens.

Anyway, my suspicion is that if you went for this 'job' then someone with your name, address and National Insurance number would shortly be arriving at Heathrow.

So I've sent them an email offering my services. I'll report back.

Sinn Fein bug on eBay

Once upon a time, the Internet was castigated as a place where terrorists might download instructions to build a bomb.

How times have changed.

Now, Sinn Fein is trying to sell a device it claims is a British MI5 bug. Which, if it is a genuine bug, means that Hollywood have been lying to us about the state of bug technology. It's hardly a sleek, tiny, porsche designed piece of kit.

eBay pulled it from their site, but it is now available on the Sinn Fein online store. (Sinn Fein have got an online store! Who knew?) Being sophisticated merchandisers, they have mounted it on a varnished plinth. So it could have pride of place on your mantelpiece.

Apparently, rumours that after the closure of their South American operations Sinn Fein are also selling online training courses on eBay, remain unconfirmed.

Very subtle

osCommerce eBook,
Learn to make Fantastic Sites
You should "Buy It Now"

You almost don't notice this one. It's also the first entry to be submitted with an explanatory haiku:

I suck at Haiku,
No need for you to piss-take,
I know already.
